Brainspotting / Somatic Therapy

What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is a somatic, body-based approach to release emotional and/or physical stress stored deep in the nervous system.

It’s especially helpful for healing the effects of trauma, anxiety, and overwhelming experiences that talking therapy or other modalities haven't fully resolved.

In a Brainspotting session, we slow things down and listen to your body’s natural wisdom. I’ll guide you to find a “spot” in your visual field that connects with the issue or experience you want to work though. This “brainspot” is like a doorway into the part of your brain/nervous system where that experience is held.

There’s no need to retell painful stories or make anything happen. You simply notice what arises—sensations, memories, or emotions—while staying grounded and supported.

Many people describe Brainspotting as both powerful and peaceful. Over time, it can bring relief, clarity, and a greater sense of ease in your body and daily life. Situations or memories that would be distressing or activating can feel neutral, like they no longer have the power they once did.

Brainspotting Intensives + Retreats

Retreats will take place from Saturday-Sunday, and will include intensive private Brainspotting sessions with integration, private craniosacral therapy and/or other gentle body work with a licensed pracitioner, group nature therapy at our beautiful local beaches, and group breathwork with gentle yoga.

The goal of these retreats is for more rapid resolution of issues or trauma, with the addition of supportive therapies and grounding practices to reset the nervous system.

Intensive Sessions:

May take place in evenings or weekends, and can focus on a single issue or multiple issues/complex trauma. These sessions will typically be 2-3 hours in length. The goal of an intensive session is to more rapidly resolve an issue or traumatic memory versus a traditional format of slowly working through issues one hour at a time over the course of weeks or months.

Brainspotting Weekend Retreats:

Retreats will take place from Saturday-Sunday, and will include intensive private Brainspotting sessions with integration, private craniosacral therapy and/or other gentle body work, group nature therapy at our beautiful local beaches, and group breathwork and gentle yoga. The goal of these retreats is for more rapid resolution of issues or trauma, with the addition of supportive therapies and grounding practices to reset the nervous system.

*If interested in applying for a weekend retreat in 2026, send a message to inquire.

**Intensive sessions and weekend retreats will not be covered by insurance.
