Trauma isn't just about the event- it's how you and your nervous system experienced the event and the lasting impact it had. Complex trauma is not limited to a single event and can even be caused by the things that did not happen to you- such as emotional safety, secure attachments, stability, etc. Whether you have an existing PTSD or C-PTSD diagnosis or are unsure if you experienced trauma, we can explore what has happened (or not happened) to you and how to heal and get past your past.
Not everyone with anxiety struggles with perfectionism, but those struggling with perfectionism will certainly be experiencing anxiety. Together we can learn how to transform perfectionism into healthfully striving for excellence, balanced with self-compassion and flexibility.
Exploring your sexual and/or gender identity, navigating relationships, and determining what living authentically means for you can be a lot to figure out. I'm here to support and encourage you as we unpack it together.
Chronic illness can be isolating and invisible to others. I help those living with illness to find meaning, coping skills that work for them, and a place to process thoughts and emotions. As a recovering long hauler myself, I am in a position to uniquely support those suffering long-term effects from COVID-19.
Many people are deconstructing their faith and examining their beliefs. My goal is not to encourage you to stay or leave your religion, but to help you safely explore and determine for yourself what you need. Deconstruction is not anti-religious; it is anti-harm and encourages critical thinking over dogma and healing where there has been harm.
As an ex-Mormon myself, I am familiar with the questions, concerns, and difficulties of leaving the LDS faith. If you are a questioning or progressive member, I offer a safe space to explore all of your questions and respect your beliefs wherever they might be. My personal choices do not dictate how I practice therapy or advise my clients.
