Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, #115688 CA
I take a holistic approach to mental health that addresses all of the factors impacting wellbeing. Using EMDR and other modalities I help clients heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, navigate life transitions, and cope effectively with stress. More recently I have been supporting those suffering from Long COVID, also known as "long haulers." I also work with those transitioning out of high demand religions, redefining their spirituality, or deconstructing their faith.
I love what I do, and I hope you'll feel that in our work together. My approach is trauma informed, strengths based, and attachment focused. I strive to create an emotionally safe environment in which to explore the presenting issues, process difficult emotions, identify strengths, gain tools, build resilience, and heal. I also embrace humor as a part of the therapy process- we can talk about hard things and also laugh together as we explore the ironies and awkwardness of the human experience.
It is my goal that therapy will allow you to know yourself more deeply and gain confidence in who you are and what you need to live authentically. It takes courage to be vulnerable and strength to examine what's painful or uncomfortable. I know what it's like to be the client and I've done (and continue to do) my own work. I'm familiar with the discomfort that comes from growth and change, and I am here to support you. It's important to me to provide a sense of safety and warmth, and to be relatable and competent as we navigate this inner work together.
Using my training in EMDR therapy I have successfully treated clients for traumatic events, attachment injuries and adverse childhood experiences, anxiety disorders, and a variety of other issues. It is a powerful and effective treatment modality that can provide lasting results where other treatments may have fallen short.
I strive to be an active ally to BIPOC and the LGBTQ+ community and continue to educate myself in order to create safety for my clients. I welcome clients of all faiths, sexual orientations, gender identities, and racial backgrounds.
Relax with a cup of tea in the comfortable waiting room before your appointment. Take a break from the stresses of life as you breathe in calming aromatherapy essential oils and relax to the sound of waterfalls and soothing acoustic music. I believe a healing environment is an important part of the therapy process, so I hope you will feel comfortable and relaxed in this beautiful space.
Feel free to take a moment before or after your appointment in the meditative garden courtyard. The office features ample parking and is easy to find, located right off the Encinitas Blvd exit on I-5. With beautiful Moonlight Beach less than 1 mile away, you may choose to stop by before or after your session to soak up some sunshine and ocean air.
We practice community care in our office. Accordingly, masks are required and provided for anyone entering the office and must be worn in the waiting area. The office is equipped with multiple filtration systems and is disinfected regularly. We ask that anyone feeling unwell to please request a virtual session. I offer virtual sessions, including EMDR, to all clients.
It is my hope that this space feels like a refuge where as soon as you enter you are able to focus only on yourself and what you need.

While you're here, let me introduce my best friend of 13 years, Molly. She is a white German Shepherd mix who stole my heart the moment I saw her at the Humane Society of Auburn, AL.
She occasionally makes appearances in the office. She also patiently tolerates the many foster kittens, puppies, cats & dogs (and other creatures) that have come through our home.
